Dr Varadarajan, Founder-Principal talks about the strengths of NES International School, Mumbai
Dr. R Varadarajan, Founder-Principal
While still in its early stage, NES International - IB World School. Mumbai, has created several landmarks.
One student achieved the world's topmost rank in Higher English, last year.
Our students have topped the entire country in IGCSE exams consecutively for years.
Another IB Diploma student singularly represented the country at the World Earth Science Olympiad and stood 3rd.
These records of excellence show the high degree of specialized care we impart - in academics, co-curricular and other innovative activities.
Excellent grooming, state-of-the-art infrastructure and a one-to-one caring system have made the students self-reliant to take over and successfully execute national and global events through the governing Education Group's year long Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
The NES Space Exploration Programme of 2012, was presided over by world astronaut Capt Jon McBride from NASA. We celebrated its first anniversary in our school on 1st March, 2014.
The NES World Peace Congress 2013, was organised in the midst of Nobel Laureates and Global Speakers. Enamoured by our success, this programme has been entrusted to Berlin Brandenburg International School, Germany to celebrate its 1st anniversary in 2014.
The NES National Science Festival, in memory of Sir CV Raman, celebrated its 2nd anniversary at NESISM on 28th February, 2014. This event attracted participants from all over the world with best utilization of sciences for the mankind. It empowered the students with an in-depth grasp of science, space science and the importance of peace.
Our passion for space science attracted ISRO and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre who have committed to set up a Space Pavilion in NESISM. With this set up, every year a new batch of 30 budding scientists will be visiting and camping at ISRO to learn more about space science. The first batch is due to move in October 2014.
We are incubating tomorrows scientists, right here at NES International School Mumbai- IB World School, and that warms my cockles.
A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image.
The achievement of this dream school would not have been possible without the selfless dedication of our faculty.
Plus my thanks go out to the parents of our students. Their keen interest in the progress of the school, has been our greatest strength in reaching where we are today.I am of the opinion that today, the curriculum should be oriented towards present day needs. I am planning to include subjects like Peace, Patriotism and Space Science so that your child will be a finely crafted diamond that will shine and spread light all around.
Before I conclude, I pray to the Almighty for his divine blessings on my dear students. And convey my sincere wishes to the faculty members.
