Consultant Principal’s Message

Mrs Lyn Eames, UK

As the school year 2016 – 17 commences at NESISM, let us take a look at the achievements to date. Its own prestigious school building with a playground and more than enough world-class infrastructure, with a swimming pool for the younger ones, are profusely benefiting the students.

However, above all these expansion and development, the key ethos within the school - a strong community with all good values form the nucleus of its leading soul makes NESISM different from others, where all students are nurtured, transformed and empowered to be worthy of all world challenges.

This inner spirit continues to be ordained by Dr R Varadarajan, the Founder-Principal, who has always placed the students at the heart of everything. The school management and teachers are blended by him to be dedicated and committed. However, it is only with involvement of parents and teachers, a common value is created to share and that is the cause of success of the institution, as felt by Dr R Varadarajan.

With everyone working towards this common goal, it creates a sense of belongingness to all. All stake holders are committed to ensure that students are empowered, with knowledge and skills to become responsible international citizens, able to tackle future challenges.

Furthermore, the students of NESISM have ever developed an open-minded approach blended with compassion and empathy which form the crux of the CAS theme of its IB Education.

NESISM provides the tools to lead a successful life and to make a difference in the world and that is why its students are consecutively exacting top ranks in the country as also in the world.

I am happy that my school has become a world level school having a composite stream from PYP to IBDP level and has also an almost parallel curriculum of Cambridge University (CIE) from Checkpoint to A Level courses.

It is highly encouraging that many of our NESISM students have participated in national and global events, like ‘NES Space Exploration’, ‘NES National Science Festival’, ‘NES World Peace Congress in India and also the MUN Assembly in the United Nations, the NASA training in the USA or the World Earth Science Olympiad to speak of abroad.

My very best wishes to all for the ensuing school year 2016-17.

International Advisor’s Message

During the past few years, I've had many opportunities to assess first-hand the quality of education that is being imparted in NES International School Mumbai, which has secured IB World School status for PYP and IBDP and awarded top rank in India as also in the World by the Cambridge University CIE.

There are four ingredients that make an outstanding school

1. students

2. faculty

3. curricula & pedagogy and

4. visionary leadership.

The huge steps that have been taken to offer the students at NES International School Mumbai, a system and philosophy of world class education, is second to none.

I am also extremely happy to hear that its students have ranked top most not only in India but also in the World and this has been due to the special efforts put in by the Founder-Principal and his dedicated team of faculty.

The school's faculty continues to be amongst the best that the country can offer. Student centric learning is uppermost in the minds of all teachers and these special attributes are further tuned up by Dr R Varadarajan, Founder-Principal in his urge to achieve the maximum for his students.

Interactive teaching methodologies are used throughout, which help imbue analytical, communication and other important skills, as well as content knowledge.

However, none of the above could have taken place without the leadership and vision of Dr R Varadarajan, who has undoubtedly the both. He has always scoured the world for the best in education and has then implemented it in his school. These are the reasons that his contributions were highly recognized by the British Institute for Learning & Development, U.K. and by a renowned British Parliamentarian and Statesman at the British House of Commons, U.K.

The quest of Dr R Varadarajan goes on with repeated visits to foreign Educational Institutions, to bring to NESISM and its students the best 'post IB 'education that the world can offer.

Strong links are being forged with Universities in above countries including Australia to bring the best foreign undergraduate and post graduate courses for his students to pursue after completing their school education in India. I am happy to know that the students of the school are creditably taking part in national and global events of their parent body's Golden Jubilee Celebrations, I cheer them up.

I wish all students, teachers and the members of management and their much cherished NES International School Mumbai the very best for the academic year 2014-15

parent reflections

We were surprised when Suhani explained to us the respiratory and digestive systems. It was taught to her wonderfully at school using visual aids.
Thanks a lot!

Ayush knows his poems and the national anthem really well. He asks for permission before doing someting. He also enjoys yoga at school and practices those asanas at home as well.

When we were dealing with a unit on communication, Sanika inquired how plants and animals communicate. We were surprised as it was not included in the topic. This showed that she reflected being an enquirer.

My daughter taught her cousins and friends about articles, vowels and rhymes during her summer vacation. Even taught me the ascending and descending order using our family tree as an example. She also teaches our maid English conversation skills like 'How are you?', 'I am fine', etc.

My daughter has shown positive development thanks to the training and learning she is receiving at school. She is willing to help people, she even helps me and her father in our everyday activites. It is amazing to see how she is practically applying her learnings from school in her daily life. We are quite happy with her conduct and would like to sincerely thank her teachers and the entire management.

The one page handwriting practice from the Newspaper is very helpful. Not only does it help my son improve his handwriting, but it also makes him aware of what is happening in the world. He chooses his favorite news each day and practices.

I would like to thank you and appreciate your hardwork, support and understanding towards my daughter. The inquiry fair held at the school was excellent. I found Geona to be very confident and smart when she was performing at the fair. Thank you for giving her this opportunity and showing faith in her.

Mother of Geona, 1-B

My son spoke on topics taught at school without any hesitation. This shows that he has understood these topics well. I am very happy with my son's progress. Thank you.
